Hawaii Travel Guide

The Hawaiian Islands

Planning a trip to Hawaii? Let us show you some of our favorite spots to visit in Hawaii, where to stay, budget tips, packing guides and more!

  • Maui: Maui is one of the most highly sought-after vacation destinations in the US. Highlights include whale watching, snorkeling with turtles, visiting the small town of Paia on the northern shore, driving the Road to Hana, paragliding, and enjoying a sunset cruise. Read our guide to help you find the best places to stay in Maui.
  • Kauai: Kauai is known for it’s beautiful and lush, green environment. It is truly a place for nature lovers. Poipu Beach is one of the most popular white sand beaches in the entire state and has even been named among the 10 best beaches in the US. Waimea Canyon is known to be โ€œThe Grand Canyon of the Pacific.โ€ Lawai is a small town, that provides one of the best small-town experiences and the Na Pali coast is one of the most breathtaking places in the world. Read our guide to find the best places to stay in Kauai.
  • Big Island: Big Island is big on diversity, as youโ€™ll find four to five different topographical terrains very close to each other. You definitely shouldnโ€™t miss the Kona Coast, also known as the West Coast of the Big Island. On the other hand, Kohala Coast is one of the most diverse areas of the island. You can go from lush greenery to extremely dry and barren land in just a few miles. You should also visit the Akaka Falls and the surrounding state park.
  • Molokai: Molokai is true, raw, and rural Hawaii. This is where youโ€™ll experience the culture at its strongest, and arguably the grass at its greenest. You wonโ€™t find any big resorts here, but you will discover extremely intimate experiences. Molokai has Hawaiiโ€™s tallest waterfall, and the longest continuous fringing reef. You should definitely try the Molokai hot bread for a taste of both unbelievable flavor and culture.
  • Lanai: Lanai is pure remote luxury. It has a prominent pineapple farming culture, and its low population density makes it a peaceful island. Lanai is a great spot for adventure activities. Off-roading is a great recreational activity in Lanai, as the unpaved roads compliment that type of driving.
  • Oahu: Oahu is a goldmine for tourist attractions. The Diamond head mountain is Oahuโ€™s most iconic landmark. Itโ€™s not only beautiful but is also historically significant. Climbing Diamond Head is an experience you shouldnโ€™t miss. Waikiki is an absolutely beautiful area as well. There are grand hotels, bars at rooftops and incredible restaurants. And lastly, attending the traditional Hawaiian Luau is something everyone should experience at least once.
